Guys:

I've registered for the Task Force Dagger 3G in March and am looking at

airports to fly into.

Has anyone ever flown Southwest into Birmingham, AL? Is it easy to get

in and out of? How is the cost of rental cars?

I know flying into Atlanta is an option. But that airport is a total hassle.

Just looking for your experiences with Birmingham, if any.

Getting in and out of B'ham is a piece of cake. It's so much smaller than ATL, one terminal, one baggage claim. And of course Southwest rocks. I think drive time to Blakely is about the same. It's about 3.5 - 4 hours with over half of that being two lane roads. You may have more rental car options in ATL, but if you make reservations it doesn't matter. Birmingham is also much easier to get out of.

I know some guys flew into Dothan, but that's likely and expensive connection.

Tallahasse is only 1.5 hrs from Blakely. Never been to the airport, but it might be an option.

Yep, Tallahassee is closer...but an even smaller airport market so tickets will be more and you'll likey have an extra stop. Enterprise at BHM is easy to deal with.
