saibot
When shooting iron sights I always close my non-dominate eye, regardless of distance. I've tried a few times in dry fire to open them both and it's a disaster, there is just too much data to process and I don't know which target or dot is the correct one. So my question is, is this holding me back? Any GM's out there who only shoot with one eye open? If this is a known issue to progress any ways to fix it, or am I going to have to move to open and get a dot? Thanks, guys!
motosapiens
There are a zillion threads on this. I know one local master who closes his non-dominant eye. I personally find the scotch-tape trick to be effective for me. really reduced the visual clutter and sped up my shooting. Apparently neither of my eyes is particularly dominant, so I get very sharp double-vision of either target or sights without tape. I have met GM's who also use scotch tape. In fact, if you have brian enos' book, you can see his glasses are taped on the cover shot.
