defusion
I was wondering if anyone is running a (2011-style) pistol with a rail mounted optic. Something you would be likely to see on a glock open gun for example. It seems there aren't really any high quality pistol-rail mounts around, while it probably wouldn't be much less solid then something tapped directly into the frame. The reason for this would be to allow switching between a standard division gun to open by simply threading on a comp (or swapping entire top-end), and sliding on the reddot mount. ps. Price is not the determining factor for wanting to be able to switch between standard and open in a single pistol, but rather the limited amount of firearms I can legally own. I'd much rather just get 2 guns... Edited September 18, 2013 by defusion
Kingman
Use a slide mounted optic on a second top end.
practical_man
I have used slide mounted optics on my 45 wad guns for a long time. They work fine if you can get used to the entire dot moving. Hard to shoot at speed that way but it can be done.
