Moltke Posted September 18, 2013 Share Posted September 18, 2013 Definitely clean when you see degredation in performance and avoid overcleaning, overscrubbing, etc. Use good solvents and let them sit for a while, and use good oil too. Fireclean is more expensive but works very well from what I've seen. I generally clean everything yearly whether it needs it or not, and then occasionally do some light maintenance if it needs it, or looks like it might need it soon, but for the most part I don't worry about it because I haven't seen a degredation in performance - accuracy or function.
