lppd4
Whats involved in loading my .260 Remington using .243 brass or 7mm-08? Just neck up the .243? just size down the 7mm-08? Just wondering if it is worth the trouble if I came upon a cache of brass in either caliber.
BrianATL
Pretty simple just neck up or down and trim to length. I have done both but usually just use the Remington 260 brass now.
427Cobra
Remington 260 brass is pretty accurate but about the time the necks needs annealed the primer pockets let go, and its expensive. I switched to Win 7-08 a long time ago, simply run the 7-08 brass thru a FL die and its 260, as for Win 243 some have had problems with donuts, some haven't, I expand the necks with a expander mandrel and fire form, I also started neck turning, it's not required but makes Win 7-08 and Win 243 interchangeable in my 260. Graham Smith
If you are going for long range (bolt action) precision, then just bite the bullet and buy the Lapua .260 brass to start with. It's well worth the investment in the long run. If you are looking at hunting or general shooting, then you are probably going to find that the 7-08 is easier to form.
