kurtm
Chi: I am sure you will get lots of advice on this post, but I would go with a full length M1A. I feel that the balistic advantage of .308 is best suited in a 20"-22" barrel. I know that many people will say that the short barrel "handles" better, but this is not the case!! A full size M1A indexes to the target as fast as the short ones and has much more velocity than the shorty making those 300yd shots that much easier. The gas system is also regulated to the full length barrel and that ain't bad!!! KURT
Guest Dick W Holliday
i've had a few full length M1A over the years but my favorites have always been the Bush rifles.....that's what i got now......i don't know what it is exactly about the shorter rifle but it just seems more handy......the rifle before this one was a super heavy super match and i just felt like it was a chore to carry it to the range.....maybe i'm lazy....to me the M1A is not a threegun rifle, i would see mine more as a SHTF type thing, after i got rid of the heavy rifle i got an FAL just so i'd have a 7.62 but when i ran across a good deal on the Bush rifle i got rid of the FAL (it was too long also)....Dick
