ihocky2
I saw a 686 on Gunbroker that was customized and one of the things done was the area at the back of the cylinder on the outside was polished where the cylinder stop scrapes. In theory it makes sense that you are reducing friction during the double action pull, but is it really worth it? Are you reducing enough friction to be noticed? Has anyone ever had experience with something like this to say if it is worth the time or is it just a gimic?
cas
I did mine…. just to do it. I was polishing something else on the gun and said what the heck. Ran a couple wraps of tape around it to "mask" it off and polished. Took no time at all. If it's doing anything I wouldn't tell you, nor does it really matter to me. You can see there's still a bolt line.
Carmoney
That was a trademark of the late great revolversmith Andy Cannon. (It makes no meaningful difference....like lots of things....but it looks pretty trick!)
