BerettaRacer
Ranger, The best thing would be to send it to Ernest Langdon at www.langdontactical.com for a trigger job and tune up, but if you don't want to go thru the hassel the next best bang for the buck is just to change the hammerspring to a Beretta model "D" spring or a Wolff 16lb. For 5 bucks and 20 minutes work it's a world of difference. Since it's used it's probably best to do a full respring, trigger, trigger bar, slide stop, recoil etc. Also tap out the extractor pivot, remove the extractor, and clean all the crud build up under it. ranger
Thanks for the advice BerettaRacer - I checked out the Langdon site. I'll shoot as-is for a few months then send in for a checkup and tune-up. I'll probably get the new trigger as well as the spring package.
Jasonub
I think the slide had a metal called terillium or something like that that caused the breakage. IIRC, it only happened in the usa plant and was corrected as soon as they discovered the problem
