RIA 1911 Match

Plan on using my RIA Match for some 3 gun competitions coming up. The only thing I have done with it is put a better set of grips on it and put one of these cheap plastic mag wells on it. Anyone see any sort of disadvantage with using this set-up?

Of your not shooting heavy metal then your giving up a ton of rounds to the 9mm guys

That's what I thought. I'll have to find something I like in 9mm.

I really like the S&W 5906, but not sure how that magazine disconnect would hurt me out there.

The glock or mp is a good one to look R. Plenty of add ons available and with the extensions on the mag get 23 rounds in the mag

If you like the RIA, try the new RIA 1911-A2 Target, it comes with 9mm and 22TCM barrels and is a high capacity taking Para mags. Should be just the ticket for 3 gun.

I am not sure what disadvantage the magazine disconnect safety would cause. I'm no fan of them but firing the last round in the gun is rarely going to save you time and on the rare occurrence where it does it won't hurt to have the empty mag in the gun......
