Timinnc
Hi all ... I have several eotech and aimpoint type optics on my AR and AKs ... Whenever I shoot long range, I've always used MOA based Scopes ... I recently picked up a Competition type AR and would like to get into the 3 gun type shooting ... I was planning to add a Meopta 1-4x or a Bushnell 1-6.5x ... If I go with the Bushnell, I was considering the MIL version with the BTR-2 Reticle ... Question, do any of you guys run Both platforms within various rifles? I thought it would be good to learn and master Both MOA and MIL ... Curious if you guys like to stay with one platform or become proficient at both as well. Thanks, Tim Edited November 28, 2012 by Timinnc
MarkCO
I have a pretty warped mind and can do math in English, Metric, mils, rads, whatever in the fly, so I don't care much about mixing. For most people, pick one and stay there is good advice. MOA is more common in 3gun, and what I use. Mil is more common in long range, so I use that more there. Jadeslade
After a while-you just remember this scope does "that", etc. Shooting them a lot helps. Mark said it pretty good.
AlamoShooter
If I can learn Mils , any one can. I think the Mills have perfect logic when you want to find the distance to something past 500 yards. I found that using the mills was not that hard to get my head around when I thought in yards and fraction of yards.
WFB
Keep it simple.... Mount your Eotech and come play in Tac irons?
