Forensics Doc
Although I've been shooting IPSC for awhile now, I just shot my first steel challenge a couple weeks ago--and had a ball! It's now on my monthly "must shoot" list of matches. Being my first match, I brought only my Production IPSC gun not knowing there was a .22 division also. I've got a couple of Smith Model 41s that would work just fine, I think, one being a 5" heavy barrel and the other a 7 3/8" with a muzzle brake. They both shoot equally well for bullseye, but given the speed of the steel challenge I have no idea which would be better. Is there any concensus of opinion on which might be better? shred
Reliability is paramount.. I lost 6-8 seconds this year at the SC .22 match to jams that made me eat a poor run. After that, it's whatever you can hit the targets fastest with. In general, that means light and easy to index, but if you're just getting started, use whatever works 110%
