RogerT
Hi Nabby and welcome to BE forums. I don't get this, do you mean a "underlug" as on the 586 or 686 S&W barrels?
Bubber
Nabby, What model are we talking about? K frames? I think you are looking at changing barrels. And it will bae a tight fit to get a L frame Barrel to a K frame but S&W might have a barrel w/underlug in K frame somewhere. I am not a Pistolsmith so I can only guess. SRT Driver
Some time ago, Weigand and Power Custom made a removable underlug for full lug, stock bbls. It was secured by a set screw. Have not seen one in a while.
JimmyB
There was also one made with a comp on it for 6" 686's, but I can't remember who made them. Sorry. I don't know what you're looking to achieve, but it may be more cost effetive to change the barrel itself, plus you'll probably be able to get better accuracy. What is is that you want the weight for?

RPM8shot
nabby, I agree with John. I think you are looking for a Jarvis underlug. They are available in blue and stainless. If you are looking for a 6" blue underlug, I have one I would part with. Rgds RPM8shot
