scooterdog
In a recent match, my extractor on my sx 2 practical broke in two right after the pin location. This let the cartridge stop (i've heard it called the plunger ) and extractor spring shoot out and disappear. I've tried ordering the replacement spring from Numrich and from Winchester but the spring I receive is to large to fit in the hole in the bolt. I miked the spring at roughly 0.145" and the hole at roughly 0.12". Does anyone know where to get the right springs? On the schematic plans from Brownells, Numerich and Winchester it is called "extractor spring". Any help would be appreciated.
GunCat
Call the Tech Support guys at Brownells. I bet they will go measure a spring or 2 from their inventory and let you know what they have.
scooterdog
Sorry to say - but Brownells was not helpful. Any other ideas?
mpom
Since the Browning semi auto is very similar to the Winchester, as is the FNH, perhaps the other companies may offer better help than Winchester. Surprised that Winchester sent the wrong spring. Did they send the right extractor? Mark
