ckell101
Good morning, I spent yesterday getting into the thick of a reloading conversation. After hearing all the technical conversation I have become pretty insecure with my 223 reload. Currently, I run a JP15 18" and I have chrono'd the rounds, but I have not papered them to check for accuracy at the top end of my loads, but the lower spectrum were grouping about 1 MOA - 1 1/4 MOA. But here is my load: Bullet weight: 55 grain FMJ Boat Tail Powder: IMR 4895 Powder drop: 25.8 grain Primer: CCI Brass: mixed Please share any comments you may have. Thank you in advance. Cotys
I typically load 75 grainers. I ran your load in QuickLoad, it estimates 3000 fps and a max pressure of 49162 out of 62366. I would just keep working incremental powder loads until you get the accuracy that you want.
bushmeat
I would be happy if my 55fmjs were grouping 1.25moa like yours are. I never got better accuracy out of the higher velocity range. For accuracy at 300+ yards, Iuse the tried and true Sierra 69bthp.
dmc_md
55 grain fmj grouping at 1 MOA is excellent. I wouldn't change anything if that's really what you're getting. Darren
