Robert King Posted January 29, 2012 Share Posted January 29, 2012 I just picked up a PWS Wraith for next season. I love just about everything about this rifle. But, I want to replace the Daniel Defense 12” Modular Float Rail with a JP XL VTAC Rail. I like to keep my hand farther out than the DD allows. I am curious what is involved in switching the two, before I order one from JP. The gas block should fit under the handguard just fine. Do I have to remove the gas block or gas tube to do the install? Any advice is appreciated. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
KTKlaus Posted January 29, 2012 Share Posted January 29, 2012 (edited) EDIT: The JP uses a preparatory barrel nut to install and in order to do a swap your going to have to remove the gas tube, gas block and muzzle brake to get it off. Bryan 45 Posted January 30, 2012 Share Posted January 30, 2012 If the Daniel Defense forend uses a standard AR barrel nut, you can install a Samson Evolution tube with minimal effort. I'd have to see your rifle, but you may not even have to remove the gas block and muzzle device, depending on how the Daniel Defense forend comes off.
