The 629 frame where the barrel screws in is .030 lower than the 627 frame. If that really is a 629 frame (not just mismarked) and it has an 8 shot 627 cylinder, there is a big problem. Everything lines up good. Its a damn good shooter, just mismarked. Thats good to know about the difference in barrel location between those.
