Biloxi23
I posted a picture of this gun in sometime in 2010. One member posted he thought that Jim Hoag may have made this pistol. I bought the gun used from an elderly widow that was selling off her husband's guns. The price was really right and the gun was really cool. It's a 1984 stainless Gold Cup, with an aftermarket barrel with a single port comp. The original front sight hole has been filled in, and a Wichita adjustable in on the rear (in place of the Colt's Eliason) of the slide. It was hand checkered everywhere: front of the trigger guard, bottom of the trigger guard, grip safety, front strap, rear strap and the rear of the slide, to include the back end of the extractor. The front of the slide, from the front of the dustcover to the comp has been milled thinner to match the thickness of the comp. There is an ambidextrous mag release, ambi safety and extended slide release. What do ya'll think? Even if I don't ever find out who the gunsmith was, I am still keeping it. kimberacp
am not an expert but IMO, I dont think JHoag did this gun. I have dealt with him when I was younger and what I think he would not have done was to mill the front thinner, also stamp the name on the slide and the safeties on the this gun where not from that time period. The Swenson safeties is what was used. IMO. thanks
Biloxi23
I am totally in the dark, as I have never even handled a gun from that period. Thanks for the reply though.
