When you just can't wait for Springfield and when you have a 6" barrel just laying around, that's perfection calling. I took the shop gun done in red and did a little machining here and there and a lot of patience. I got the barrel to fit into that skinny slide. A crown and some polishing and it was time to test fire. So far the test rounds are feeling good, I need to work up a major load in a short length and do some accuracy testing. When I find some more time I'll get one of my mag wells fitted and one of the super heavy weight tungsten rods made(5+ ounces).

Is this a 5.25 specific rod? I have the 4.1 but now I'm jealous.

Where can you get a 5oz. guide rod??

The Canyon Creek XD Tactical 45 acp guide rod will fit in with a mod to the lower lug on the barrel, that rod is 4.7 ounces. I was thinking of doing a two piece rod with a full diameter on the end and slightly longer than the than the tac. acp rod. That should make 5 ounces easy, but after fitting the Tac. rod I decided to skip the extra end piece. I will have more rods made and in stock by the end of the week hopefully.
