RevolverJockey
Can someone provide the roll pin punch size and a part number to order replacement roll pins? I am about to order from Brownells and about to install one of Warren's sights. Thanks in advance. Lee
Toolguy
The hole and pin is .055 diameter. A 1/16 pin punch is .062 diameter. Usually 1/16 is the smallest you can find, so get one of those and file or grind it down a little. The Brownell's part number for the pin is #940-077-250AD. The S&W # is 077250000. You are most welcome! Best Regards - Warren
Carmoney
In a pinch, you can always take one of those little eyeglass screwdriver kits, and grind the tip flat on one of the tiniest ones--makes a perfect punch for drifting those little front sight pins in and out. The part number Warren cited may be for a solid pin, as opposed to a roll pin. S&W seems to use them interchangeably in the guns. It doesn't really matter which one you use--they both work fine. granderojo
Brownells sells a punch that's for the pin. P/N 080-620-005 (see pg 422, Brownells Cup Tip Punch .050" dia. $18 about). Alternative if you don't want to make one.
