98006
I messed with a lot of stuff on my MP's,but recoil springs I have not. Does the stock one come apart so the springs can be changed?? I also realized that non gen 4 G17/22 recoil assembly's work in MP's
strangedays
They do come apart but are a pain. If you want to mess with springs then get the non captured one from SSS.
cyclone336
Yes, a vice grip on the round end and a nut driver on the hexagonal end will do the trick. Just have a file on hand to take off the burrs from the vice grip teeth. As stated above, getting a non-captured guide rod and a new spring is probably the way to go. That way you can easily go back to the factory set up if you need or want to.
Roundguy
It takes some torque to get the nut off its redlock tight fastest way to get it out is heat on it dont do this if you can at all avoid it. if i had it to do all over again i would have just bought the SS guide rod i ended up buying anyways and kept the stock spring alone.
