I voted no and I won't try it but I tried it and didn't like it.

I like it for off hand shooting but it gets in the way when laying the forearm on a barricade for supported shooting. I got rid of mine.

I like mine. I use the original profile, and it works great on my NM AR (I have to use the regular hand guards because of the freefloat set up on this rifle). I also have an original AFG on my upper that has a sampson rail over an adams arms piston conversion. I just got the AFG2 and it is much smaller. Currently it lives on my Nordic practice upper (the handguards are much smaller than what I use on my other rifle, and I think the AFG2 profile works much better...)

The AFG lets me do several things that I feel helped me get better, quicker... It gets me to use consistent form, every time. My hand goes to the same spot. I measure it to be the same distance on each/every upper I use. I also like the "stop" on the front. It works like the Noveske K9, without being a purpose built "support" device.
