Red Ryder
I was using the chrono to test some new loads with my XDM 9mm which just had a trigger weight reduction (3.5 lbs) and trigger job by Springer Precision and I had 2 misfires. Upon examination, their was a fresh round in the chamber (with no primer hits), which means the slide cycled properly but the trigger (or striker firing pin) was not reset. How could the slide cycle with a fresh round in the chamber and the striker not be reset? I pulled the slide back an inch or so to re cock the striker but not chamber another round and the gun fired like it was supposed to. This happened twice. Is it possible that I did not let my finger off the trigger in time for everything to reset? Any help would be much appreciated.

Red Ryder
I just sat down and figured out that not letting the trigger reset is not possible. If that was the case, when I let off the trigger it would reset. The problem is that the striker was not cocked. What would cause the slide to cycle and the striker not to be reset? Lee G
http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=116940 According to Rich from Canyon Creek (in the linked thread) it could be the sear spring tension. I'd give Scott a call and see what he thinks. Edited March 21, 2011 by Lee G
