opinions on slide dots-brand,why,size dot

I am in the early stages of having an open gun made. And I want a slide dot. But I need the experienced shooters to chime in. Also I need suggestions on a gunsmith that has experience in melting the dot to the slide & some fancy but functional slide lightening cuts. I am in the Houston, Texas area Thanks

Bevin Grams used to do a cool melt in doctor sight treatment. Don't know if you can find doctors these days though. Also the doctors needed tobe bulletproofed.

what kind of gun is it? you may get different gunsmith answers depending on the gun such as this guy is great with glocks, these guys are great with 2011's, well choices are limited on the XD but I have heard amazing things about the few their are.
