Yes, it's heavy, but it's damn accurate. Whatever rifle you already own is the ideal rifle for you to start out in 3 gun with. AK, M1A, Kel-Tec...whatever. Just bring it out and give it a try. There's so much else to learn that I don't think any rifle will seriously handicap you for a few matches. Shoot what you have, and if you need something, someone will more than likely let you borrow it. Get out there, find out what works for you, and most importantly, be safe and have fun.
