kreativecid
My gigantic box of BBI 130 is done. Worked great in the M&P9L and 5" 1911 9mm. Have a few 124fmj and 125 Bear Creek moly samples but I'm thinking of trying 147 moly. Before I get a 100 pack sample are there any shooters who went from a 130 or 135 to a 147 using a powder like WST (or WSF). I have about 4 pounds left of WST hence my desire to stick with it plus I reload 45acp and it's a do-all great powder. Always use Federal primers, mixed brass with long OAL and my MS is 17# and RS #10 in the STI. Obviously I can change things up if needed. What should I expect with a 147 when reloading WST to make just a bit over PF? Edited February 6, 2011 by kreativecid
225 Fireman
This is a load I came up with 147 gr lead or moly bullet 3.5 gr WST 1.14 OAL 138 PF out of my Glock
mscott
Fireman's load sounds about right. Of course work it up, but the 147s and WST seem to be a good combo. I'm thinking one local guy ended up to 3.6gr in his M&P, but every gun is a little different.
kreativecid
Tested a few mags worth of 147 Bear Creek moly atop 3.6 WST/1.125oal, and their 125 along with their 135 atop WST. Shot timer shows I'm fastest with the 125rn and my accuracy was the best at speed. Didn't change my 10# recoil spring.
ETexPops
I have tried running BBI 147's with 3.8 gr WST and was happy with the results as well. Same 138 PF as 225 Fireman out of a STI Spartan with 10 lb recoil spring. Trying the same bullets with WSF and looks like 4 gr is gonna be the answer for that one. Really mild recoil (especially the WST) and both powders provide accurate loads.
