George
New Division Info & Rules Details For 2011 BARC. Open, Tactical & Limited/Standard as usual. Manual Standard & Open with a twist. Added divisions scored under manual rifle rules (1 shot per paper target) = Big Bore Standard & Big Bore Open. These new division designations would be in the interest of getting more folks to use big-bore battle rifles in competition. However much I love the AR platform, I have a distinct fondness for old-school .30 caliber rattle battle rifles. To that end I would like to do something to encourage their usage in matches that traditionally favor the AR platform in .223. Big Bore Division = .30 caliber minimum bullet diameter. Minimum caliber = 7.62x39 (Russian AK round). .30 carbine and other pistol style rounds are specifically excluded for you gamers out there, centerfire bottle-neck rifle cartridges of .30 caliber or larger only please Big Bore Standard = standard USPSA Limited rifle config, no bipods. Single non-magnified optic allowed as per recent USPSA ruling. Big Bore Open = standard USPSA Open rifle config, pretty much anything goes. This does not mean anyone with an M1A or Garand or any .30 box magazine, semi-auto has to be in the new division. You can choose to run a big bore rifle in the normal semi-auto divisions with the power factor advantage going for you. You will just get scored against the AR's and have to shoot two minimum at every paper target. If however, you choose to go the Big Bore division route, you run against other BB competitors only for plaques and prize table order and get scored entirely within your own division. Garand will still get a special category award of one "High Garand" plaque to the Garand shooter who places best against all other Garand shooters. The coveted "Crease Award" will be back again along with all the usual categories (LEO, Military, Lady, Senior, Super Senior) awarded in depth according to how many competitors qualify. EQUIPMENT RULES NOTE: Due to the recent questions concerning whether and/or how fixed and detachable fore-grips qualify as support devices we have decided this match will allow them as follows. Limited/Standard and Tactical: Fixed ones only allowed. A detachable may be used, but it MUST remain attached AND in it's original position throughout the match. Open: Anything goes! For either division, a handguard mounted fore-grip may make contact with anything the rifle is allowed to make contact with in the designated shooting areas. In other words, as long as it doesn't fault the shooting area, contact/support with the fore-grip is fine, just like with the handguard on a barricade, magazine on ground, etc... For the purposes of this ruling, a fore-grip is a fixed extension of the handguard. More later.

George
Update on 2011 Bay Area Rifle Championship competitor entries. I have just finished processing all entries received to date and the match is almost full. We only have 11 of the 75 available slots left as of today. If you are interested in shooting this match in 2011 I would advise getting your entry in as soon as possible. Once the match fills up all entries received after that point will be put on a waiting list in order received. If your entry is put on the waiting list you will be notified via email and your match fee check will not be cashed until we actually have a confirmed slot for you. Waiting list slots will be given out in order of entry postmark. To get on the waiting list you must submit an entry form and match fee payment. I have sent an email confirmation out to everyone that we have received an entry from to date. If you have submitted your entry and have not received an email confirmation we either have not received your entry or the email address you provided is not valid (I have had two dead email bounce backs so far). Squadding is almost complete and I will be emailing a squad and competitor details list out to all registered competitors by the end of this week. George
COURSE DESCRIPTION UPDATE Stage 1 (Fully Engaged) has been modified. Paper target count has been reduced by 2 for 20 total. This change was required because EZ-Winscore would not allow score sheets to be printed with more than 20 paper targets on the stage. http://www.3gunrules...info/2011-BARC/ All other stages remain the same. Score sheets have been sent to printer so there will be no more course description changes made.
