TommyC
Well, if I receive approval from the family CFO (wife) I will be buying an STI Edge in .40S&W next week. (Nice Christmas Present, huh?) I am buying it for IPSC Limited but if it is legal I would also like to use it in IDPA. Oppinions? As always, Thanks!!
the duck of death
If it has a bull barrel over 4.2" it not legal for IDPA. NON-INCLUSIVE list of EXCLUDED modifications: Heavy barrels, cone barrels (over 4.2”) and/or barrel sleeves (factory or aftermarket) http://www.idpa.com/rulebook5-2-01/rulebook_new.htm
TommyC
Oh well. His wife vetoed it anyway. She decided to keep the gun for herself. Thanks for the info.
banjobart
The STI Edge is also illegal in IDPA for it's full length dust cover. Consider this: someday, when the wife is amendable, buy the STI Eagle. It has a regular barrel and dust cover and it will also fit all your existing 1911 Government model holsters, too! It's really the same gun minus a couple ounces of fat, ugly steel.
