"Occasional sale" from Canada?

Howdy all ~

If anyone has any experience with this, I am looking to purchase an STI from an individual in Canada. Searching here has yielded many related topics, but not the specifics of this one.

ATF says if it is an 'occasional sale' (i.e. I am not in the business of importing) it is as simple as filing of Form 6A.

Does anyone have any knowledge of other hoops on this end or on their end to expedite the purchase and transfer of a firearm (STI). Also, if you have any tips on protecting myself from potential fraud, I would appreciate it. I hear the international sales of items can really open up a can of worms.
