Hairtrigger
My S&W 610 will only fire 1/2 of the time in single action. Where do I start looking for a solution? Once in awhile the hammer will not move the full stroke to the cylinder I am using new moon clips that are not bent . Thanks
Bill Sahlberg
First take off your side cover and add some oil on the pivot points. Next remove your grip and tighten the starin screw on your leaf spring. Lastly, only shoot Federal 150 primers for reliable ignition. E-mail me off list if you need more help at thesahlberg7@webtv.net Bill Sahlberg
dajarrel
Hairtrigger, If the things Mr. Sahlberg listed doesn't take care of your problem, (and it should) you may have a bent pivot pin causing your hammer to drag on the side of the slot it runs in. Your comment about "Once in awhile the hammer will not move the full stroke to the cylinder" sounds as if something is dragging. Look at the hammer from the rear and make sure it is centered in the slot through it's entire travel. Mine touches just enough to make a light mark but I have no ill effects at all.
