cyburg
Ok, I am ordering a 650 as soon as I get the answer I need. I have a 550 and I am reloading 38 SC. So I have the dies. I going to get 40 dies and another tool head to reload 40 also. Seeing that I already have the powder funnel for the 38 SC should I go ahead and get the initial setup for the 40. That way I will not have to buy another funnel. I think thats right for my question. Thanks everyone, Time is ticking
diehli
Powder funnel ≠ powder measure. Powder funnel is what flares the mouth of the case. Anyway, here's what I'd do: order the 650 with the .40 setup. Order the .38SC shell plate, an additional toolhead, the station one locator, and if you're going with the powder check, an additional powder check die and medium powder check rod (you can move the powder check unit between toolheads). So, part numbers I'd order: XL650: 16975 XL650 .38SC shell plate (#3): 13345 XL650 toolhead: 13863 XL650 .38SC station 1 locator (#3): 13614 Powder check die: 20064 Powder check rod: 21373 BTW, this assumes that you're going exclusively to the 650 and will not be using the 550 for either of those calibers. If you do intend to use it for either of those calibers, I'd get the full conversion kit and an additional powder measure and leave the 550 alone. Maksim
congrats... so why the upgrade from 550 to 650?
cyburg
650 is up and running. Why the upgrade? Dude have you seen a 650 run. But really, no really. A buddy of mine let me use the 550 until a buddy of his ask for it back that let him borrow it 5 or so years ago. The 550 is nice but I would suggest that if you are going to buy a dillion and can afford the extra $100 get the 650. Oh ya, buy the way he has not asked for it back I just wanted the 1050 but couldn't justify it so I went with the 650. I going to have some alone time with it later today. I will be able to shoot a lot more now because I will be able to load a lot more in a shorter time. Time is money or I have other things I have to do. This makes it a lot better.
