JohnS
I got my XL 650 mounted and set up on my new autodrive system. I have loaded about 400 rounds of 38 super comp so far. The first 200 rounds I used new brass. The next 200 rounds I used my practice ammo brass. With the used brass I had to tighten the clutch quite a bit to keep it from slipping. Every thing seemed to work ok but I noticed a little motor noise and a soft clunk coming from the gear box. I don't know if I'm just being paranoid or If I have a problem. I rechecked all my adjustments to make sure nothing was binding or bottoming out. Is this normal or should I be concerned?
Canuck223
It's possible it's the connecting arm flopping from side to side.
JohnS
It's possible it's the connecting arm flopping from side to side. The rod ends on the connecting arm was my first thought. I'm pretty sure thats not whats making the noise. I can replicate the sound I'm hearing but pulling back and forth on the rotating arm when the machine is off. I think it might just be a little play in the gearing as the machine loads and unloads. I think I'm just being paranoid. After all I have a years warranty. If it holds up for the first year more than likely it will be good to go for a long time.
dillon
Just be aware that you no longer have a warranty on your 650.
JohnS
I tried running the motor in the other direction. Everything seems to work smoother now.
