28-2 for...what?

Just ran across a 28-2 5" .357. Poor visually but good mechanicals. Is this something worth picking up for a competition gun? I shoot ICORE, IDPA and will be trying USPSA I am sure. Where would this be a good choice - or not?

I'd say no. Save your money for an 8-shot .38/.357 for ICORE or a .45/10mm wheel for USPSA.

Thanks, Mike. Have a couple of nice .45s for USPSA and a 4" and 5" 586/686 for IDPA and ICORE. I don't have an 8 shot though. Guess that should be my next purchase..?

Are you shooting one of those .45's at your USPSA match tomorrow?

The 28-2 is too big a frame for me for a six shooter, I prefer K frames for that. You will like the 627 8 shooter, you can put it to work down there since you have an ICORE club there.

6 inch Mo. 28s are incredibly willing and honorable donors of their Barrels for 8 shot Revos to get what some call the "iron sight" treatment for those who prefer Longer sight radius guns....

There are still a bunch of 4 and 5in barrels around you can put on the gun and make a car gun out of it too.....Something about an N frame in the hand......
