JoeInKS
I shoot an STI Trojan in 40 S&W and a Dan Wesson PM-9 in 9mm. Both are excellent in terms of reliability and accuracy. I owned a Springfield 1911 target in 9mm which was very relliable but suffered in the accuracy department - 4+ inch grouops at 25 yards was the best i could get after a trip o the factory. Thanks for that feedback. Makes me wonder f there's any pre-understood accuracy present with the SA 1911's. Man I was looking at the Wilson Combat site and there were claims that many models can shoot 1" groups at 25 yards. Ouch. sbo76
The Dan Wesson's shoot very nice. You might want to check gunbroker if you don't mind used guns.

xinnix
I have and like my Springfield 1911 9mm Loaded. If you get some cape cod polishing cloths you can use it lightly on th sear and hammer go very light. I use Eno's Slide Glie on all of my 1911 hammer and sears It stays put and last a long time and keeps it nice and smooth. You do not take the back of your 1911 apart that often so that is why I use the slide glide light grease. I use it on my Springfield, Kimber and Les Baer 1911's.
