FreakyBig
I need some advice on converting my Witness Match. I tried searching, but just wanted to make sure before ordering parts. I have a 10mm match that I don't shoot due to ammo cost and availability. Can I just order a .40 barrel and mags for it? I'm assuming that I would have to have a complete conversion kit with the slide to go to 9mm or 45ACP?
pivoproseem
I've found that the 10mm mags run .40 just fine. You should be good with just a barrel swap.
FreakyBig
Thanks for the help pivoproseem Is it possible to switch to any other caliber than 40 or would it require a different slide? Edited June 30, 2010 by FreakyBig
bikerburgess
Yes you can change the barrel only and shoot 40, that's what I did with my gun. As for other calibers you could probably get it to run with 9mm or 38 super with new mags but you will need to change and tune the extractor for them and it may still be questionable. For 45 you would need a new slide for sure Mike
chbrow10
Some .40 shooters prefer the 10mm mags since the Grams followers will fit them. They will fit the .40 mags but you have to remove the spacer in the front of the mag.
