Vince Pinto
Hi guys, If you go to the IPSC website and find that it's missing, don't be surprised - we've been the victim of persistent attacks which have been occurring every hour, on the half hour, for the past week or so. In a nutshell, there's been a problem with the DNS lookup. Apparently the IPSC server uses Linux, and there's a known vulnerability which is being exploited by a person or persons unknown, and our Webmaster Extraordinaire Ian Fachie has been temporarily applying band-aids and tourniquets as a stop-gap measure. However today (as I type this) he's bringing out the heavy artillery and he's upgrading us to a newer, less susceptible (and hopefully bullet-proof) version of Linux. We shall overcome and thanks for your patience and understanding in the interim period.
Skywalker
Shall Ian ever need some powder, bullets, primers or whatever else to fight back, we'll all be glad to provide...
Vince Pinto
Skywalker, If we could identify who was behind the attacks, your offer might be interesting Anyway, it seems like the new software is working, so we've defeated the attacks, at least for the time being, but we will continue to be vigilant. I'll close this thread for now, and hopefully it can stay closed
