shadetree
I have a ruger 22/45 And some how after 40,000 rounds or so the ejector has loosened. For normal target practice this is not a big deal but the faster I shoot the more problems it causes wich sucks because I realy like to shoot plate matches with this gun. So here.s the deal. The ejector appears to be rivited into the barrel assembley and since it has loosened ocasionally and empty shell will slide in beside the ejector instead of being forces out the ejection port. The faster you shoot the more failures it causes. LIke one every one or two magazines. Does any one have some advice on how to fix this or should I find a local smith? shadetree
strangely enough I had not thought of that. I'll give them a call this week and see what they have to say. Thank you.
EricW
Have you tried resetting the rivets? You *might* be able to temporarily retension the ejector by gently tapping the rivets with a steel punch and a hammer. This will get you by for a while, but like all rivets, they'll stretch again. The solution may be to silver solder the ejector into place.
