Mikej
There is a 617 at a local shop that I have been eyeing and I had a quick ammo question. I have a lot of Eley ammo that I use for my 22 benchrest shooting. Much of it consists of test lots that were not quite good enough for my benchrest rifle. This ammo has a coating of lubricant and I just wondered if I would have any problems using it in the 617? It is kind of expensive for plinking but should be accurate. DougCarden
It should be a tack driver with that ammo. The only consideration is that you may have to have the charge holes reamed, just depends on the gun. That ammo will run just fine, in fact, the nice thing about the gun is that it will shoot any .22 ammo, period! Enjoy your new gun! DougC
Jaxshooter
Great gun and fun to shoot. You can get loading blocks and speed loaders for it and really burn thru your ammo.
Round_Gun_Shooter
I shot Eley and Eley primed ammo my 617. Works great but the wax lube they use sometimes fowled the cylinder gap so good cleaning practices were needed.
