deerslayer
Can anyone describe or provide pics/link for pics of how the "rebound spring support" should be oriented when reassembling the bolt on a Mark II pistol? I field stripped the gun, but had no intentions of disassembling the bolt. The pin that holds the firing pin kept falling out, and the firing pin and other parts finaly came out, too. The firing pin spring (aka "rebound spring", per Ruger website) crumbled into 5 or 6 pieces. I'll have another one on the way tomorrow, but am not sure which way the suport needs to face. Any help would be appreciated.
BigTinVA
See if this diagram will help you. http://www.powercustom.com/exploded/RugerMKII.pdf
deerslayer
Thanks. I saw that diagram on the Ruger website, but it's still unclear whether the support slides down into a hole/groove in the bolt, or rides above that hole.
BigTinVA
The rebound spring support rides in the groove under the firing pin. Orient the support with the bend down and the tail inside the rebound spring. The rebound spring will contact the face of the tang on the bottom of the firing pin. Everything goes together just as the exploded diagram shows, it just sits in the firing pin groove. I hope this helps.
