Chuck D
While looking for a model 10 to build a new PPC gun on, I ran across a 30 year old (I'm guessing, the owner bought it new in the early '70's) unfired model 10. The box says "military and police" on it and it has a 6 inch tapered barrel. Before I tear this thing apart... could it have any collectors value? I thought enough of it to pay 150 bucks for it...it's really a neat revolver.
spook
Chuck, why don't you check out www.smith-wessonforum.com The guys and gals over there are absolute S&W nuts. They know everything. They'll surely know the date of birth of your M10 and value.
Patrick Sweeney
You want to cry over good wheelguns gone bad, how about this: A custom-ordered 4" Triple Lock, in (hold your breath) .45 ACP? Too bad sometime in the 70+ years between it being built (app. 1905) and my seeing it (1983), someone sent it down the bumper line at an auto plant, and plated it with fishbelly white bumper chrome. To steal a line from Duane, Jesus Wept.
