ranger
If you are into science fiction, Zombies, or political commentary - I suggest you read the book World War Z by Max Brooks. You can read it as science fiction or just for an action story or you can read it as political/social commentary. Without spoiling the book - how would various countries with different types of governments react to an international crisis? Would major drug corporations try to use the disaster to make a profit? Besides the fictional accounts - there are some real points to ponder. Edited February 15, 2010 by ranger
COMATZD
I read this last year. It does seem to have very good commentary on the varied responses of different governments. The writing style is very interesting as well, like a collection of first person perspectives. I'd suggest this one too.
Graham Smith
There is a movie version in the works. The difficult part is that it doesn't lend itself well to a movie format - last I heard, the screenplay is on it's 5th draft. More info here.
