Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Does anybody else have a really tough to push mag release on there 21SF? I am a lefty with medium hands- and though I love this gun it is giving me fits when doing reloads. I have tried middle finger, trigger finger and thumb and I am just not able to squeeze hard enough to release the mag. I am not a huge guy- 6' and 220lbs- but I am not usually a weakling either. Anybody else have this problem on their's? Is there anything I can do to loosen it up?
  2. Yep I have the M on my 586- So the smoke is from the lead? I thought it was from the powder. Is that dangerous if you inhale it?
  3. Thanks guys! I have a 586 no dash that I got off GunBroker- I had a local smith work on the trigger, chamfer etc. for me. I am playing with the idea of shooting it in IDPA and USPSA this winter when weather permits. I was just going to get some 333's (for the USPSA) and comp III's and shoot SSR . Georgia Arms has some .38 lead reloads- so that was why I was asking. Thanks for the replies!
  4. If you shoot lead, do you do anything special to clean your barrel? If you don't shoot lead can you recommend a good source for loaded 38 special that makes minor power factor?
  5. Tell them to offer all of the current "carry comp" models without the holes at the end of the barrel and all cylinders need to hold an even number of rounds- preferrably compatible with safariland comp III speedloaders...
  6. I have a NightHawk Talon II with 4.25" barrel I wanted to start relaoding for Single Sstack in IPSC after the first of the year. From what I've learned here- I thought I would use Clays and 230g coated bullets like maybe from Precisions.... I thought I would start out at about 4.1 or 4.2 grains of Clays and a COAL of 1.250" to be close to PF 165 in the cold weather form my barrel. Does that sound about right? I have to drive about 40- 45 minutes to the range most days- so I wanted to start out as close as I can to being right so as to waste less time/ money/ gas / spouse patience! Thanks for any advice!
  7. That's really weird. about 3 months ago when lots of people were complaining that they could not reach him and his web site was down I went on-line and ordered 3 speed loader holders and they arrived in about 6 days. I must be the luckey one. Wow! Can you put in my order for me?
  8. FYI Chris or whatever his name is at ready tactical has dissappeared. I know two people (one who was a dealer for him) who sent holsters back for repair over a year ago (close to two) and can't get hold of the guy. I have two broken mag carriers and am in the same boat. I've not said anything online until now. I just gave up and bought replacements elsewhere. Buyer beware... Believe me I know! I ordered some of those several months ago and haven't gotten anything- not even a reply. Apparently the same experience as a lot of people here on this site.
  9. For your few first club matches - probably not an issue. Welcome to SSR - Craig Thanks! I guess I won't buy that one- Can anybody reccomend a good carrier that has a backing on it so that my uhhm.. love handles don't get pinched while I am shoving the carriers in?
  10. I found some discussion about splitting into two to wear two in front and one behind the holster- but couldn't you just wear it "as is" with the whole thing behind the holster? Is it still "specifically outlawed?" whatever that means?
  11. Read post number 10 again in this thread. Rick I just don't understand why they set it up the way they have.
  12. Okay- I called. The P220 is legal in CDP and there are no discussions to restrict CDP to 1911 style pistols. The person I spoke with even said a glock could be shot in CDP- although I still don't understand that one.
  13. Thanks Everybody! I'm gonna call them- I'll let you know what I find out.
  14. Okay- Thanks Clay! I hadn't realized about the dust cover. That's a bummer.
