Ok, as some may know I have just started reloading. Was shooting to get a 130 to 132 PF and everything I read about this data shot out of a G34 everyone was getting 130 to 132 PF but when I shot it I averaged like 127 PF out of the same gun. Can someone help? Here is the load and the chrono results.

Confused as to why my readings are so much lower than everyone else's using the same load and same gun.

Correct. The Lee Factory Crimp Die is different than the standard Lee Taper Crimp Die.
-
I run the KKM in my G34 and reloading for it using either the Dillon or Lee Sizing Die. Using either the Lee or Dillon Die, they both pass the case gauge and barrel test. No problems. Currently loading at 1.150.

Looks great. I just bookmarked it. Hopefully it will grow for you.

I don't hold my breath while shooting but I do wear a mask when working around the tumbler (even outside) and when working the media seperator.
-
Thanks a bunch Matt.

It's a G34 which will actually be around a 7.300" sight radius with the DP's.
-
Just installed a set of DP fixed sights with the .105 x .205 front. Shooting off the bench at 10 yards I'm about a 1 1/4" high and at 25yds I'm about 3 1/4" high. Which front sight height should I get to correct? There next step up is the .225, .285 and .300.
Which do you think should get me back in the ballgame?

Thanks guys

Not talking about the aluminum cases but the Blazer Brass. Are these ok to reload?

1:16
Thanks SRT. Now would you happen to know why they went with such a slower twist than the factory 1:10 and if indeed anyone has had trouble stablizing a heavier bullet (147) in the slower twist?
-
Just got my KKM barrel today for my G34 and noticed the twist rate in the KKM is a lot slower than the factory barrel. Anybody know what the exact twist rate is? And why they went to such a vast difference?

The factory mags will work but they do recess inside the Dawson magwell about a 1/8" making it kinda awkward to seat them.
-
Yea, it's still kinda hard to seat them loaded or unloaded. I believe its gonna be the top edge of the pads as Want2Race posted above catching a litlle on the magwell. Gonna pull the insert out when I think about to see if thats what its catching.

Oh gosh! My 550B should be here next week. Crossing my fingers that my luck is not as bad as yours.
I have been thinking on how I want to build and setup my bench. Now after reading your story I think I'll re-evaluate my soon-to-be-bench.
Good luck and keep us posted on how things go. Since you'll be one step ahead of, maybe I can learn from yout mistakes. Does that sound bad?

Just a update. Installed the Ice magwell last week. Installed easily and the factory 17rd mags I had would work fine.
Installed the Arredondo base plates today. Installed easily, springs worked with the #5 followers and can squeeze 23 rds into them. I decided to download them to 22rds though because the 23rd was denting the case trying to squeeze it in.
Mags with the base plates slide in easy but are kinda hard to fully seat even when empty. I have to push pretty hard or either tap pretty hard with the palm of my hand to get them to fully seat. Hopeing this will smooth out eventually.
Overall I'm happy with the upgrade.

In short, you need three Locator Buttons #3 and a Powder Funnel #F.
The Shellplate is the same for .40S&W and 9 mm, #5.
Since you won't be swapping calibers you don't need the conversion kit or the tool head with powder funnel, use what came with the .40-kit.
Wow! I'm sure this is easier than I'm making it out to be.
So I don't even need the 9mm conversion kit or the toolhead and powder die?
-
Just found THIS in Brians online store. From what I've gathered, I need the:
9mm Dies (3 pack)
9mm conversion kit
AND
Deluxe quick change kit OR toolhead & powder die for 9mm.
Since I won't be changing calibers very often is it safe to say I'll just need the 9mm dies, caliber conversion kit and toolhead with powder die?

Just purchased a used Dillon 550B and it comes with the 10mm/.40 conversion kit. I have no need for this because my main purpose is to load 9mm. What do I need to buy to get this swapped over so I can load 9mm. Sorry for the newb question but just want to make sure I get everything. I'm assuming just the 3 pack 9mm dies from B.E. but wanted to make sure. Here is what comes with what I bought:
Included-
- RL550B
-10mm/40 Conv Kit
-strong mount
-bullet tray
-extra primer pickup tubes
-vhs tape manual
-bench wrench
-two sets of dies, dillon and lee
-two primer flip trays, dillon and rcbs
-spare parts kit
-cartridge case bracket and 6 bins
-10 dillon blue ammo boxes
-blue dillon machine cover
-D-terminator elec scale
-Lyman stainless dial caliper
Iknow... I know... buy a reloading manual. I am but wanted to go ahead and try to buy everything I need (basics) at once.
Thanks

Thanks guys!
Same springs even for the non-captured rod?
-
Just ordered a Glockmeister tungsten rod (non captured) and 13, 15 & 17# springs for my G34. On the email confirmation i got from Glockmeister it said the recoil springs were for a G17 (my fault, didn't scroll down the drop down menu when ordered).
Will these fit the 34 also or should I call before the order ships and tell them there for a 34?

Thinking of ordering the kit as well. How does it compare to a good .25 job with 4# striker and 5# trigger springs? I'm not as much concerned about trigger weight as I am the smoothness of it.
-
Yes they work, you can also modify the arredondo, wolff, or ISMI springs to work with the follwers with some tweaking. You'll have to ben them slightly and work them in with a fine flat tip screwdriver. Once you get them in, crazy glue the spring to the follower. Works well for me, and I keep a few extra springs pre fitted, and glued in my parts kit just in case i need to make a quick swap out.
Thanks for the tip Yar. I thought I had read somewhere about the springs not working with the newer followers. Thanks
Why Am I Not Making 130pf?

Thanks guys. I feel a little better now.
I'll probably move it up to 3.3 as suggested. Just curious though, With a 1.150 OAL, how much would you have to shorten this cartridge to achieve the 130 - 132 from a 127 and keep the 3.2?
