I've only used it in 9mm and 40s&w

Dido on H110 and 296 with same bullet weight both are within .1gr and lil gun 1 or 2 grain less. 296 has always been my go too in wheel guns. In semi guns I've had too back off on charge weight. I also use cci350 where wlp or cci300 is used.

Western Powders might have data for 147s or Alliant?

Why is PRESSURE an issue, what about VOLUME! People never think about that! Unique can give pressure, but not enough volume (not saying use Unique in 300bo). Some barrels don't have the best gas port size for sub ammo, let alone gas system length with full power ammo in 308 based cases. Do you have an adjustable gb and what fuffer system do you have?
-
I've used 296, lil gun, h110 and 1680 from 110-185gr (no subs). I've heard that enforcer could be good and #11fs? Speer has online load data.

When working up a new load I like to get a box of match grade ammo to match what I want to replicate. I picked up several boxes of Hornady Black 223 with 75gr BTHP and same for Hornady Match. Factory load states 2,790 fps at muzzle for both loads. I was getting about 100 fps less when tested but also shot at 38 degrees. Welcome to MN Spring.
I want to replicate these loads and I'm using Hornady brass, Hornady 75gr BTHP Match bullets, Federal Match primers and AR-Comp powder.
Typical rule of thumb for initial load is start at least 10% under max and work up. Hornady Manual Vol X has a max load of 21.7 and 2,600 fps which is already almost 200 fps under the Hornady factory load. I know the manual tends to be pretty conservative but my math says 23.8gr to hit 2,790 fps which is already two grains over max published.
Theses will be for my custom build with 18" barrel and 1:7 twist.
Anyone else using AR-Comp and what have you found?
What barrel length? Are those Hornady 75bthp a superformance box. I have several boxes, but haven't chrono'd any from barrel ranging from 11.5-24". Like stated above the factory powder is probably different of what is out there too sell.

Hodgdon site will let you be or check specific powder and then give data for that/those checked.

Thanks for both responses. I have since purchased several Lancer 300 BLK mags and will get a chance to try them next week! They've been out of stock for a long time.
The only issue I've heard of is 200+ grain bullets in non 300bo ONLY or FOR mags not feeding properly (regardless of brand). The use of 556 mags is where the issue derived from.

Like anything.......preference! I do on everything I reload and do so without any accuracy loss.

Part of the issue (or non issue) with springs with a shorter length can have a higher tension rate with the same compressed # reading. The coils can be the same number (in a shorter spring), but less diameter giving the same compressed length.

So far I've hadn't run into any issues with 10mm yet, but 357sig from remmngton had small flashole that other brands. All were small primers. Broke 3 stems before figuring that out.
-
I've only used it in 357sig, 40s&w and 10mm, but don't do any competitions.
-
At 3.4 being your best after that you might need too change bullets or powder? Velocity change didn't care for that weight/style/brand in your gun.

Separate your brass into same head stamps
Size all your brass piles and keep segregated
Drop/Plunk test without loading the round to make sure it goes all the way in the chamber of your pistol. As stated you're a low volume shooter.
Throw away the stuff that doesn't go in the chamber
Go load the brass that does
2nd and much easier for a low volume shooter
Buy 500-1000 new starline cases
Just what I do! I will add that I will seat a bullet without primer and powder for mag and plunk test. I will then make 5 to 10, load a mag then cycle the slide for feed and ejection test.
-
1 question? Have you tried too chamber a round into full battery? I've used armscor and pmc in xdm40 and g22 without any mag fitment issues. Wonder if it was a factory screw-up?

I just did a powder inventory, so far I’ve got: titegroup, Longshot, HS6, Power Pistol, PB, WAC & bullseye.
Full disclosure I got this 1050 used with a TON of powder, primers, etc...my only experience is loading 40s&w for major PF for a 2011, and 9mm for a Glock 19.
If there’s a powder y’all recommend I’m all ears. Also, magnum LPP? Any difference other than hardness?I don't do any competition shooting, but in my g20/40 and xdm precision hs6, longshot and power pistol run fine. I have also used be86.

Mainly blue dot and silhouette. Occasionally 3n37 and power pistol. Depends on bullet weight.

Bumping this for an update since I just dug out my G41 from the back of the safe to start Shooting again. Current primer shortage has me switching from 9mm to 45acp.
What are you guys using for a guide rod and recoil spring to convert the Gen4 to the traditional Gen3 type?
Is anyone besides carver making a mag well?
Thanks,
Cuz.
Lone Wolf sell gen3 to 4 guide rod adapters

My Gen 3 G34, flops around in my G41 Blade-Tech DOH. My Gen3 G21, will not go in the G41 holster.
A g21 has the same slide width as a g20/40, but the g41 is more like the small frames 17/22/31. I have holsters for all and the g41 fits my 17/22/31. All are gen4. G41 slide width 1.002
G21 width 1.122
G20/40 1.122
G17/22/31 1.004
I would attach pics, but file too large.

Sonic cleaner with rcbs green liquid for 15 to 20 minutes on heat. Cleans several hundred 9mm at a time. Dry it with a dehydrator.

Keeping my sanity is challenging enough with golfing and fishing! Try paintball?

Coming up on 56 and never thought about having 1 done? Most likely won't, "butt" can't say never!

Having an automotive background helps me too see other ways of doing things or having ideas. Try this? A valve spring tester. It will give reading based on compressed length. They are not as low cost or as portable, but give better readings.

I've been shooting all but the first 5 years of my life. I've been reloading for 37 years and enjoy every minute of it! I might not always agree, but will never disrespect! This seems too be a completely different forum in a good way!
