Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. That would work, this is what I bought. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MTV5UW4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&th=1 Probably only diff is length. I keep using pieces as I now feed a roll sized, and 2 different Lee's ACP and APP. APP I got cheap from ebay. The units work but making them do different things is a bitch so I set one up as a decapper and the other as a large primer priming tool. I once changed my Dillon 650 from small to large and then back to small primers. Will NEVER do that again
  2. I have good experience with Hennings. Had them convert a stock master to SA with flat trigger. Shoot it alonside my Shadow 2 SA and much prefer the Tanfoglio.
  3. I bought a 25 foot length os 1/2 inch brake line protector (like a coiledspring) use some plastic tubeing for ends. Whole setup is changed, bought a mark 7 case feeder that now supplys roll sizer, acp and app and Lyman 8 turret. they all mount on a inline fabrication. I will take soome images and post.
  4. This is an old thread but.. I do have his combo set and it works very well. The only issues I don't care for is capacity. To many bullets or cases and the clutch slips. I just ordered the 223 conversion. Takes a week or so to get.
  5. Solved, The Custom has a magwell so I changed the butplates on the magazines that had flat plates, one of the extensions was to high on the magazine, there is a slot that the mag slides into, the upper wall was too tall. I took grips off to watch the mag lock and it wasn't securing the magazine so the Hunter would hold the mag until a round was fired then the mag was kicked down. The Custom was snug enough that the mag felt secure but when fired instead of kicking the mag down, it just pushed it a little, causing the jam. Used a belt sander on the mag extension and all is well now.
  6. One thought on a straight trigger is where do you place the finger, top, middle or bottom, I prefer the lower section, more leverage and a little more perceived travel. If your finger is higher, the perceived negative travel will be less.
  7. I will do that, All my measurements where for height between cuts and shapes, but not width and angles.
  8. It does it with loaded ammo just being racked, the hunter, the rounds don't even get to the chamber, the limited, everything hangs.
  9. I have 4 OEM 10mm high capacity mags and one of them self ejects when the firearms is fired (Hunter) and jams the gun (limited custom) when fired. I can not see or measure any difference between in and the other 3, the end plate was changed do to magwell. Any trouble shooting suggestions? To send it back for a new one is an option, but for the cost of shipping, why bother.
  10. As can be seen in the picture, the trigger sits at 90% to the bore so the break would have to minus. After reading your question I worked the action and would guess about 1 to 1.5 degrees travel for take up, really very small and it looks like a final break at maybe 3.5 degrees. The trigger I have is the large so it sits (the face) farther forward, when comparing to the SA on my Limited Custom and the CZ SA my finger to thump (wrapped holding to fire) is at least 1/4 to 1/3 inch. Take up is at least half the distance and total travel 1/3 the travel of the Limited, CZ and Hunter SA's. This definitely a keep the finger off trigger till ready to fire setup. The other guns have curved triggers, so my finger rides higher and the negative break isn't as noticeable because you don't feel the slant. If I had the disposable cash I would have the same setup on the Tanfoglios and the CZ with the Hunter being set a 3 to 3.5 pounds. I think of myself more as a precision shooter than action shooter.
  11. For me I love it. At first it's disconcerting as it feels like there will not be enough hammer strike to ignite the primer but I haven experienced any miss fires in both a box of commercial range (S&B) and a box of handloads. It's light, but not to light, 2.4 lbs. about the same as my Shadow 2 SA
  12. Double to single action update. I purchased the extended trigger from Hennings and the stock master sa/da had a 2 piece sear and I was unable to feel the action was reliable. It is my understanding the other 2 versions would be fine but I do have very large hands. So I opted to get the full meal deal which included the ultimate hammer, sear, spring and firing pin and have them do the dirty work. I will take it to the range this weekend along with my Shadow 2 SA and let you know how they compare. Both have about 2.3 lb trigger pull.
  13. Finding good leather is harder than expected. I have both a Tanfoglio Hunter and Elite Custom in 10mm. I also have access to 7000 acres in Eastern Oregon. I wanted to be able to be comfortable while carrying and I like my guns. I also have become more and more disenchanted with 'Tactical'. In fact I am thinking Tactical is becoming a dirty word. Add tactical to any piece of junk and it not only sells, but for 40% more. It's nice to fantasize but get real. I have several leather holsters purchased via Amazon and you get what you pay for. Compared to a custom built holster, they are junk and why would you pay a lot of money for a fine gun and carry it in Kydex or some strange stamped leather that you haven't any idea how it was tanned. You can find a lot of good looking leather on Etsy, but once again, you are buying blind and I prefer quality over Ostrich or Elephant. I will spend most of the time stationary or in a quad type vehicle. It took a while but I stumbled across a local holster maker and the rest is history. Ted Blocker Holsters in Tigard Oregon make an Alaskan style chest rig they call the Mountaineer. I was impressed when I handled it and ordered one to fit the Tanfoglio Hunter with RDS. All of Ted Blocker holsters are made in house, In house is a 4000 sq ft facility and you see everything. https://tedblockerholsters.com/ The holsters I ordered are all calf skin lined, not raw or suede, I think it adds a touch of class. I also ordered Belt Holsters that match for those times that a side carry is more practical. The only modification I made was having them add a 'sleeve' on the upper chest strap to carry your practical folder, Mine is a Kizer Sheepdog, you can pay a lot more, but when you use this thing, you fall in love with it.
  15. I purchased the Henning trigger, did a lot of polishing and because I purchased the largest trigger (big hands) the front stop screw doesn't allow consistent locking into battery and release. Upon Henning's suggestion I removed the front screw and all worked, but the trigger had to much take up. Tried grinding the take up screw down and got frustrated so I sent gun the Henning and having the full meal done, trigger, hammer and sear. It should be noted the the Stock Master from IFG (defiant) has a 2 piece sear.
