    Awesome data! Thanks for sharing!

No prob! FYI the lighter hi-tek coated 155 gn Brazos a definite no go. Could not get the gun to spring to a spot I was happy with. And also, a lot of leading. Suspect they just weren't being driven fast enough. That was both with .400 and .401 coated. Chalk up another win for blue bullets coating resilience over hitek.

So what's the secret load I need to be using? Light bullets, heavy bullets, fast powder, slow powder?

What do you use in other guns?
What bullets/powder you got on hand?
What type of grip is your gun? gun weight can play a part as well. With minor PF though alum grips are probably fine

I'm looking at a used TSO Orange 40 for limited.   Do 75 40 S&W mags  and extensions work or are "Orange" mags required?  If Orange mags are needed, are they still available?

    Thanks!

You wont regret it. I got mine off this forum and it was two owners deep, plus the 30k I put on it during the journey to "M". Gun is an absolute workhorse, I'll never sell it. Even threw a dovetail plate on it and shot 40 minor for a bit in LO.

    Hello everyone and happy holidays!

Was wondering if anyone here has tried using heavier brass grips on a CZ 75B?

I understand the objective of trying to balance a muzzle heavy gun (such as a CZ SP01 or Shadow 2) with a heavier grip.

However was wondering how heavier brass grips would feel like on a gun with a lighter front end, such as a CZ 75B. Is there still some sort of improvement such as quicker target reacquisition, faster follow-up shots or a more stable gun for longer range shots?

Thanks in advance for any sharing.

In my opinion and experience you'll get more from tuning the spring to your exact load first, even just one pound is a huge difference so maybe grab a set and mess with those.

If you've already done that, then modulating the amount of weight on the back end is a good next step. (Grips, magwell, or even brass mag basepads)

On my TSO in .40, which saw maybe 30k rounds as my match gun, I had the DPM systems recoil spring tuned beautifully, plus a LOK brass grip and brass magwell. Man, than return to zero on pairs or more was a thing of beauty.

  5. I am in the market for a move to open and trying to iron out my load recipe plans. Considering the same choices. Although my brand loyalty has me considering 3n38 for 124 jhps.... But, I've not settled on anything yet. My plan is to settle on something quick and not spend weeks with mad science hour like I did with all my minor loads. Good learning experience though

You may want to consider selling your aluminum grip and purchasing the MPA SS grip and competition magwell combo.  My understanding is the MPA uses a proprietary grip similar to the Lone Star Innovations grip......

    💡😉

Thanks for the info. Was afraid of that. Didnt want the downtime to send it off for fitting, with the way all these 2011 builders are these days.

  7. Hey folks, recently got a MPA DS9 hybrid and loving it. It has an aluminum well and works great, but I have the aluminum grip and I'm looking at adding some weight with a brass well. A bit of a 19/2011 noob. The atlas one is listed as being for cheely, will that work for MPA? Particularly this one:

Also considering the limcat brass one but don't see it anywhere.

The SKU is 49559. It's now marketed as a TS2 mount, but will fit the TSO/Czechmate. I tried one out before direct milling my TSO. Ends up at about the same height as the frame mount.

Doesn't help you now, but Impact Machine will direct mill (no plate) a TSO for an SRO. I believe I've seen some others offer it as well.

Ended up grabbing a Toni systems aluminum one from cz-parts.com. it worked great and was a real tight fit, but the downside was there were two different screw patterned footprints. Which was fine for my DPP but I needed to grab something else for the 507 comp. Coincidentally, the CZ custom one became available which has patterns for pretty much every optic on one plate. The downside is I feel that I noticed it being far heavier, being made of steel. It is almost three times the weight. And the fit of it is not as tight in the dovetail so I had to peen the bottom a little bit.

This happened to me as well.  I took the plate out and turned it over on a vise anvil.  Took a sharp center punch and put several dimples into the bottom of the dove tail flat of the plate.  This raised enough metal to tighten up the fit.

Thanks. Went this route and loctited her all up. Took it to the range for 200 rounds yesterday and all is well. As far as I could tell I think there's not much difference I notice in slide mass between mounting plates either.

Interesting. My EGW CZ TS plate was exceptionally tight.

Yea I saw theirs after I got the Toni system one. The TS one was great and super tight. So if it comes down to it I can always buy the version that fits the 507. But I'd rather not play musical plates... I have no real issues using a plate til now. Was totally fine with the DPP. took no time at all to get used to the index too. This is a TSO I shoot 40 minor PF and use a dovetail. I like my frankengun

  11. Hey folks. Got the CZ custom dovetail plate for my TSO, since im playing in limited optics for a bit. Mounted up the new 507 comp and havent been to the range yet. Im noticing that the CZC plate is basically going in with finger pressure and is far looser than the toni systems aluminum version, which needed some fitting and coercion to go in. It however never came loose on me in thousands of rounds using it with my DPP.

My fear is that the looseness of the CZC plate may present an issue and it could wiggle out, although its all loctited down and I have yet to test it out at the range. Does anyone have any tips on how to increase the tightness of it, or am I stuck with what Ive got?

  12. Are you finding a 9mm slide to throw on it? Or are you saying you want to just shoot 40 minor? I feel like finding extra TSO uppers are unicorn dust.

I am playing with 155 grain Brazos .401 and 165 grain blues RNFP loaded to minor power factor in 40 for LO. The Brazos kind of suck and lead the barrel. Once again, back to blues. But I am around 140ish PF with a Toni systems dovetail, and a DPP as my dot. I have also seen guys use a 9mm barrel and fit a 9mm extractor. Seems to be a little finicky though with a 40 breech face. I'm sticking with 40 minor for now, until I eventually move to open. This is a good interim period after being 2 years with irons in limited, as I get comfortable with dot shooting again.

Also curious of this. Direct milled vs CZ/CZC optic plate system.

Currently just converted my Czechmate to shoot LO with the addition of an EGW plate… but if I decide that I like the division… I’d also be looking at a TS2 dedicated for the division.

does EGW still make that plate? Me with the TSO and a couple buddies with czechmates were lookign at dovetail options. CZC has been out of their plate forever, so we went with toni systems. Didnt know that EGW had an option too. Whats it made out of?

    Hi - have a .40 TS2 in which Ive installed a CZCustom 9mm barrel.

when shooting 9mm I get a regular diet of failure to fully extract. See photos. I've installed a 9mm extractor, and have tried various combination of springs, magazine and recoil. Currently running an 11 lb recoil.

The rounds used here were Remington 115s, but it happens with a variety of rounds, reloads as well as commercial.

It occurs somewhere between rounds 5 and 15,,,,varies, not consistent

Anyone have any ideas on what's going on?

    FYI - a note:

If you look carefully at third photo it shows that the barrel struck the cartridge before the cartridge was fully clear.

and doesn't do it with factory 40 barrel

Did that CZC barrel require fitting?

  15. Curious what you all seek to achieve with your race holsters - or really any highly adjustable cant/angle type holsters. aka ball and socket type setups. I have pretty much settled on the mentality that when my gun is removed from the holster, it is already perpendicular to my body and there arent any wild cross-body type angles like I see some guys do. Like theyre almost mimicking the angle of an appendix type carry (not to that extreme a degree, but you get my point).

In any case, its been a while since Ive reexamined this, and recently switching my limited gun into LO config with a dot, Im re-examining other parts about my rig and setup that were just a given. Would be curious to hear your thoughts and logic for setting up holster angles. Thanks all.
