Thanks to all, I will have to call and get a new primer slide plate, since the teflon has worn off on the back half. The press has about 30,000 rounds of 9mm through it and until now no problems, so I really can't complain.... I will post back when I get it fixed. Scott

Help, I keep getting primers that go in sideways. I have taken it all apart cleaned and reinstalled, now what? I do notice that the little metal thing under the primer bar is wearing weird towards the front of press and that the primer bar doesn't sit 100% flat. See attached picture. Save your money and don't buy the Lee I tried for hours to get the thing to work with no success and finally returned it. I am currently saving up for the KISS feeder. Scott

Help, an old 1911 that I got from my G'pa when he died is flat siding cases. It doesn't have a lowered ejection port or an extended ejector. Where should I start to fix this? Could it be an extractor problem? I have only noticed it when firing factory rounds, it doesn't seem to do it with reloads. Thanks, Scott

Thanks to all the HK is a fullsize USP with 23,000 rounds through it. I just replaced the spring. I will keep trying to break it in :-) damn hk's 23,000 and counting and not even done breaking it in. My 1911 using the same load shoots them faster at 1120fps and ejects them farther away. But of course the 1911 isn't stock haha Scott

Unfortunately the problem gun is an HK so changing springs out is not an option I guess I could cut it down a bit. Thanks, Scott

I am loading 124gr Zero FMJ's with 4.4 of 700x to a length of 1.152" with a crimp of .3785" they are coming out at about 1035avg FPS but are barely ejecting out of the gun, they land about 1.5 feet away from my right foot. What can I do to increase the slide speed without effecting the accuracy? Should I load them shorter or crimp more or just add a tenth of powder? Thanks, Scott

I am looking at ordering 15000 or so, 9mm 124 grain somethings either FMJ or JHP and it seems like everyone is out of Zero's. Does anyone know of a good place to try? How about any other brands to try? I am more concerned about accuracy. Thanks, Scott

Revchuck, I am going to switch to Zero JHP's but I still have about 11,000 zero FMJ's left so i need to shoot more so i can get new bullets, yeah thats it i'll tell the girlfriend that these bullets aren't as good and I need to shoot more to get rid of them. And what do you think "somewhat better" is? just curious Bseevers, It was outdoors and It was anchored to two of the upright 6x6's that hold up the cover to the range with a 6x6 inbetween them with two 2x6's bolted to them with a 2x12x14" lag bolted with 5 lag bolts on top of that then the ransom rest is bolted to that. I am sure there is no movement in that. I will take some pictures of it on monday and post if you would like. Thanks again, Scott

I have a springfield PI9134L 1911 in 9mm. It has had a slide to frame fit and kart match barrel and bushing done to it. I am wondering what is the most I can expect accuracy wise (size of groups) out of this gun? I am wondering how good the gun should shoot. I have shot it on a ransom rest and get 15 round groups that are center to center 1.4" X 1" at 50 feet Is this all I can get out of it or not? If this is in the wrong forum please let me know. Thanks to all that replied, but I got a load of 700x, 4.3gr at 1.150" that shoot at 1125 avg fps, that shoots 15 rounds into a 1" hole at 50 feet off of a ransom rest and that is good enough for me at the present time. Thanks again, Scott Petrola

Thanks !!!!! One recommendation I will make is to buy the frankford arsonal primer tube filler thing for about 30 bucks you will not regret it. Here it is at midway but other places sell it http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/...leitemid=656090 If you get it buy extra small primer tubes so you can have more tubes loaded and get rid of the little white end pieces on the tubes and just push the tube into the bottom of the tray, you'll understand after getting it. If you have any questions with the press or otherwise ask away it's a great place for learning. Scott

I have been using 700x powder for my last 30,000 rounds of 9mm and have thought about switching to something else. Now come the hard part, for me anyways. I shoot 500ish rounds a week, I try to go out every week, I think I shot about 15,000 rounds last year. I have been using the same load for both my HK USP 9mm Fullsize and my springfield 1911 in 9mm. I would like to be able to continue using the same load for both guns if I can but I am not stuck on it. I am looking for something that is not overly hard on the gun, and won't destroy my barrel. I would like a nice mid-range load about factory or a little less in recoil. Currently, I am using 4.4 of 700x at 1.115 OAL chrono'd at 1100ish fps. I am more concerned about accuracy then dirtyness of the powder. I also have a ransom rest to test loads. I am basiclly trying to find a middle of the road accurate powder. The powders I am looking at are 700x, n310, n320 3n37, titegroup. Does anyone have any suggestions for which powder I should go with and any pet loads using a 124gr FMJ Sorry if I rambled, Scott

Does a load that shoots accurately in warmer temps upper 70's, shoot the same accuracy wise in 30-40 degree weather? I know it's probally a dumb question but I had to ask..... Like can I develop new loads over the winter and have them shoot the same in the summer? Scott

I just got mine on friday and couldn't set it up until last night. So far it looks like it will be awesome, I have already made one little change to it though. The little metal thing that comes out the back side when you go to the prime stage, well i drilled a little hole in the part that sticks out so that I could lock it back for when I am changing powder measurements without it feeding a new case every time I pull the lever. Works like a charm!!!! I will try to attach a picture later this evening. Scott

There is a difference between a barrel bushing comp (which is a fake or copy of a real comp) and a real bushing style comp. The bushing comp will be longer due to it being screwed onto an extended threaded barrel and may weigh a bit more. If needed, you can go back to the stock barrel since the original bushing system is retained.-------The coned comp is a more compact set up and is generally used for most open guns. It can be installed on the stock barrel if threaded. It will require a reverse recoil spring plug which makes it more difficult to go back to a standard barrel and barrel bushing.-----Note that if you are going to install an efficient size comp, it will slow down the cycling of the slide and you will probably have to lighten the slide accordingly. So that means if I get an extended threaded barrel with a comp on the front, I will have to lighten the slide? Just a question not being pushy but springfield sells a "Fit & install custom bushing style compensator & match barrel" for 600 (YIKES) but they don't mention anything about lightening the slide. Do you know if I got this one wether I could take the barrel out and switch between the two? Thanks for ALL the help, Scott
