  1. I've shot Eley 147 out of my A01s reliably. And both my A01s had a much tighter tolerance than any of my Shadow 2s.

Short throated barrels seem to accept surprisingly longer rounds when they are plated or jacketed compared to coated RN or FP like Syntech. At least in my experience.

They are amazing. I currently have 11 pistols from them. Stuart is my go to man. Heres a pic of my recent custom build that he did for me. Top notch facility !

That dust cover is fantastic . How did they do that/what do I need to ask CZC for to be done?

Anyone know what recoil spring works in the A01. Also anyone known what the factory recoil spring weight is?

I want to say it is a 15lbs stock and any CZ75 spring works.

Currently running a 10lbs one although I don't know if that is ideal- just what I was running in my Shadow 2s.

    I'd shoot some Sao production......

Not against it at this point, but soonest would be 2023 if they had already announced the provisional changes. So realistically 2025 with Prod being an existing division, which is why we ended up with Limited Optics. Faster to make a new division than modify the existing.

What are you talking about?  If you're designing legal stages they're always 8 shot arrays max.

Not talking about the legality of an array, I am talking about managing the risk of taking an array on the move or going for a riskier plan without having a cap as constricting as 10.

  6. With stages being designed for hi-cap in mind, upping the cap to 15+ makes sense. 15 even is enough to force reloads anyways. And I say that as someone that shoots Prod as their main.

Low-cap on a hi-cap stage is boring as hell- run here, stand still, shoot, reload, run here etc. Might as well have a series of start boxes since lo-cap is about risk-management/not taking risks. Might as well just shoot an all classifier match. I would suppose if stages were designed with low-cap in mind, it wouldn't be that bad, but I am not going to ask stage designers to volunteer even more of their time to do so.

If people want to shoot lo-cap then go shoot Single Stack. Hell, low-cap is even implied in the name.

Official weight of a Stock 2 is 43.4 ounces, OR 42.3, so that doesn't leave much room for optic and magazine.

So, it looks like with a lighter/plastic guide rod and grips the Stock II could squeeze under 43oz for SSP now that there is no issue with cone barrels?

I ordered one May 24, was told 14 weeks on wait time.  Sent him a text message and responded back the next day saying it would be shipped out this week.  I am waiting for it and have been told it is worth the wait.

My order was almost 3 weeks before yours and I haven't gotten anything yet. Guess we'll see.

  9. It's supposedly HP-38/231 with fouling eraser additives in it.

I don't notice a difference between it and HP-38. I even ended working up my load to the exact same weight as my HP-38 loads (3.8gr and 125gr RN coated bullet).

    Same PF average at 135.

I switched to it because HP-38/231 was hard to come by at the time and still seems like I can get 244 easier, so I am sticking with it.

One thing to note about hard chroming a CZ: The frames are cast so there is a possibility of finding a few small pinholes (voids from the casting process).

Ahh, really good to know and be reminded of. I'm looking to send in an A01 (hammer forged) so hopefully I wouldn't need to worry too much.

The S2 you had done- that the brushed or matte option?

how is the finish on your A01-LD holding up? my buddy just got a slightly used one (sub 500 rounds) and the finish is so thin you can see through it in some spots. He reached out to CZC about it and they offered to refinish it if he paid full price.

Full price as in enough to buy a whole other one?

Finish on mine is wearing quick as well.

Just my experience on my Tanfo, I like the palm swells on the PD better then Lok because of it being lower.

Interesting. I feel like the higher swell would be better to force your grip higher into the grip tang. Still want to try the PDs but I don't think they offer a CZ75 mag friendly version.

PD is 100x better then LOK. Had the LOK palm swell brass grips on the tanfo stock 2 simply because PD wasn't doing them for a while. As soon as PD started making palm swells I bought them.

I'll eventually try them then. I prefer using my 75 mags and I didn't see PD mention offering an option for such. Probably easier to offer that option with G10 grips.

  13. Have you tried the Lok palm swells for comparison? The Patriot Defense ones look nice, but the palm swell location looks lower on the grip. I'd like to try them, but I am not sure how much I would like them because of that.

  14. Hah- took me a while to find around to chalk as well.

When it comes to waiting a bit before testing again, are you actively thinking about the problem and solution or just trying to step away from it to "let it bake in"?

  15. @CClassForLife

Looking back would you have done anything differently? Obviously, if you could have started shooting well with your left you probably would, but I mean your discovery/troubleshooting process.

Is there anything with your learning process that you have now changed or adjusted that may have hindered you previously?

I don't mind it, but I don't really get that one. I think they needed a way incentivize SSP since all of the other 10 round divisions (CCP, ESP, CO) allow for modifications.

Do you think that it really is just to get more people to shoot more SSP and even out participation numbers or is it to even the playing field and overall results and making up the modification advantages that ESP with a higher cap for SSP?

  17. @CClassForLife

    So, speaking about grip-

From the past interviews you've done it seemed like having a good grip came naturally to you? Or at the least you never had to think about it.

Has developing your grip on your left forced you to really think about what really makes a "good grip" and develop it?

I have Lok grips on mine and, as I have a large number of 75B mags, I had them make the grips so I could use them in my A-01.

What did you have to specify in your order to get them to do that?

EDIT: Neve mind; I see that they instruct you to contact them.

    Hmmm, but the glove might...

Thanks for the idea, gonna test it.

Huh. Have you tried grip enhancers or chalk? I remember wondering about that when I first saw your first Open Major video and not seeing chalk on your hands like I would have expected.
