  1. on old RL1050, with the shell plate screws slightly loose, we'd tighten the shell plate retainer nut "tight" , then crank the handle once to loosen, then tighten the retaining nut screws.

on a super 1050 try getting it "fairly" tight, then tighten the screws.

this seemed to solve most of my problems. lower shell plate, seems better, not very technical, but it worked for me.

    try it, it may help

also make sure there is grease or vasoline on that roller bolt.

    ;)

  2. Agitar......is that like an avatar????? or an agitator.

SD's in the single digits.... with an actual cHrony....DUR! it must be accurate powder drops......

please pardon the lack of spell check

    as-h-l-

Clearly this thread is going no-where

we have enuf "experts" here you can go with out my experiences

I thought this forum was to share experiences & opinions (not just the "facts" posted by multi posters)

    However,

It seems to favor those who post the most experts.

    Carry on,

face it, it is a conflict of interest for this web sight to say anything negative about the products it sells.

Mod please close this thread as it is a waste of everyone's time

    see you on the range!

  3. "As compared to the previous one, its slightly less smooth in operation, yes - which turns out to be a good thing, in terms of keeping the powder column agitated, which helps insure consistent loading of the charge chamber in the powder bar"

    A powder agitar?

Who makes your presses? Dillon or Whirlpool?

Glad to hear you actually crony your loads :D

  4. I've loaded with both powder measures. The new one is slightly clunky in operation, in terms of its motion - this being caused by the new double charge lockout features. However, it routinely drops proper charges and works just fine, and its safer than the previous version. It does not, in any way that I can tell, alter the feel of the press or its operation. It hardly relegates it to the "junk" status, in my mind.

EricW has an article on here on how to convert it back to the old style powder measure system, if you like.

One thing I think should be standard, though, personally, is the UniqueTek micrometer adjustment. Talk about sweet!!!!

    Really?

    you can convert It? really?

Most reloaders know this already, maybe that's why Dillons sells the retro fit kit.

    You say it's clunky? really?

    We already established that.

Do you actually crony your loads?

How about: if your spend $1500 for a press it works when you get it!

Big DUR! as my kids say

  5. I've been reloading on 1050 since 1989.

I bought a second one a 1 & 1/2 years ago and was disappointed to see the "improvements",

changes in dies & powder measure to name a few.

In my experience, the new powder measure (compared to the old style) is a clunky piece of junk.

If all of you have loaded on both RL1050 & Super1050's. You'll know what I'm talking about.

If you haven't, you probably don't know what your missing.

  6. Pete,

you'll go further, faster in open,

your secondary classes will be one class down at worst, no matter what you classify in....

Stay on the dark side of OPEN.......

(you may as well sell that limited gun anyhow..)

  7. Sounds like your coming down with "It"....................

    IPSICK!

Quick run away now, as fast as you can! sell your weapons, tell no one what happened.

Before you become like the rest of us!

  8. XRe,, I am using starline, they fit better in the moon clip. Winchester is way too tight.

9x21,, what day are you shooting? i am on for Sunday morning.

I shoot Sat am, I should see you before we head back

    We leave this AM,

    JH

  9. IF you want to shoot major 9 out of a full size frame, you'll need to use mag spacers as currently sold for S_I & S_ frames. just look at the original colt design, it had spacers in the mags.

    naturally I say:

    stick with 9x21

you can go 1.150 to 1.235 depending on mag size.

  10. if some beat you from a "lesser" division then yours, sobeit

    (you sucked)

    Or they sandbagged <_<

I shoot open, so if "they" sandbagged shooting with less rounds, more reloads & iron sights AND BEAT ME STRAIGHT UP, I hope they keep sandabgging!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. I say show both!

if some beat you from a "lesser" division then yours, sobeit

    (you sucked)

you may still have done better in your class than the combined overall results ( IF it's helps your ego).

    See all, tell all!

personally ,I want to know when someone kicks my buttttttttttttttt

  12. I'm not familar with that model, check instuctions for outside use.

Most cronys I've used don't like outside light, gives crazy readings, hence you always see light boxes at big matches.

I used 4756 years ago, don't recall having had temp problems.

Put a couple in the freezer & crony'em see if come back up.

  13. I think we've been through this,

the top A is a former M, who not only quit for a long time. but was partially disabled. When he returned to the sport, he petitioned to go down a a class, which is everyone's right, and it was granted.

The system is really build for moving up, it doesn't consider the longevity of the shooters.

    Hope this helps
