Silhouette sounds like the winer

Based on everyone’s response and I also asked the ramshot guys, it seems that silhouette and true blue are really similar in everything. Damn making it hard to decide!

Hi all, Currently loading sport pistol for 147gr minor pf for uspsa. Settling for 3.7gr at 1.1oal for low 130s pf. Tried to get some higher velocity loads also. While I did manage mid 140s pf with 4.1gr, the velocity increase between 3.9 and 4.1 was very steep and I was worried about pressure issues (non I saw based on cases) I would like another powder for: Able to replicate velocity of self defense loads with 147 gr (~1000fps on 3.6” barrel) without risk of pressure) Able to use for target load for 115 (secondary to sport pistol) Able to use for light bullets (90gr) to produce fast velocity Non of the loads will be used for actual self defense, just for practice So far I have settled on trying the following per natoreloading: BE 86(seems like a better power pistol) True blue Silhouette Curious about everyone’s experience with those three powders. Criteria: Must meter well Must work well with progressive press Meet the goals listed above Thank you for advance!

I did not check the brass length for sizing. The challenging part is there seems to be an extremely narrow window of adjustment and anything too much will just crack some of the brass. But I will try measuring length. None of my rounds ever got stuck in the rifling in my glocks at least so that is good. I do not think I adjusted belling with a full shell plate, only with a brass in the funnel.

CBC, occasionally s&b and couple other brands have given me problems more than the rest.

Will try how it is with sorting by headstamps. If that is the solution it will be a frustrating one...

I use the .357 size one indicated by their website as being the correct one to use for bullets sized .356. The issue is that the funnel depth adjustment is very fincky also. With the variance in brass, if I try to adjust the funnel to go deeper to accomodate the underbelled cases, the previously fine cases would be way overbelled or even burst. This is even with minor adjustments.

Currently using a uniqutek 9mm powder funnel. Bought it as the normal dillon funnel was not the most consistent with belling the case and I would get erratic COAL especially with coated bullets. Uniqutek does allow for more consistent coal, but the case mouth expansion has been very inconsistent, especially with the mixed brass I have been using. Every 6th brass is underbelled to the point where coated bullets cannot be realistically inserted without shaving it and plated bullets take considerable effort to push in. I have been looking at mighty armory powder funnel for a solution. Any inputs on them?

No. It’s nfa styled and bending it up is not possible

Hey thank you for the response. So what you are stating is that the ejector should make contact with the magazine from over inserting correct? currently with my epc it does that but it also seems to be riding a bit low relative to the bolt. https://blowback9.wordpress.com/2021/04/02/most-common-blowback-problems/ looking at that link the ejector seems like it should be snug up against the bolt but mine leaves a bit of gap between the ejector and bolt. Because aero’s ejector is completely drilled through on one side and one set screw acts like a pin, adjusting the ejector height is impossible. I wanted to adjust the ejector height auch that it rides a bit higher against the bolt without it rubbijg it and to give the mag a bit higher position to sit on so it feeds more direct into the chamber (thinking about getting a Macon armory mag release for this also). Also wanted to see if lrbho is causing an issue as I noticed some rounds when manually cycling will catch on it and skip off to the side. I am wondering if that could be some of my issues also.

Does anyone know if aero sends out replacement ejectors or if there are any companies that have them in stock?

I know what both lowers have been mentioned before but I was thinking if there are any updates in end of 2022 that present with new opinions? what I am thinking about: ep 9 or fm9 lower with respective upper taccom barrel 13” Taccoms most basic buffer system

In case anyone is interested, it seems that in my guns the win 244 and 147 gr combos have a steppy, not linear progression at least for plated. For coated it seems linear: Using blue bullets: 3.4 gr: Avg 916 fps PF 134 vel: 903 907 927 918 916 3.6 gr: Avg 926 fps PF 136 vel: 941 943 926 919 926 Everglades plated: 3.4 gr: Ave 851 fps PF 125 vel: 825 846 872 842 851 3.6 gr: Avg 896 fps PF: 131 vel: 908 917 912 881 896 3.8 gr: Avg 958 fps PF 140 vel: 957 965 958 923 958 4.0 gr: avg 957 fps pf: 140 vel: 964 952 971 955 957

Didn’t measure diameter but supposedly they’re .356. Maybe the actual size may be different however. scale is calibrated and brass tension should be good considering I did not change my procedure. In the past I used the same method for working loads and it seemed to work.

Yea that is definitely what I am looking for. Pro chrono dlx. So far I feel like it has been accurate. 5 yards away, 5 shots. I feel like the data on my 124 gr loads were good hence I was so confused.

Unforutnatley I do not have anything else on hand, especially now d/t issues with supply (win 244 seems to be the most common powder available and I want to stick with that if possible. I have been wanting to get some sport pistol but so far poor luck. The website data was also tested on 4 in barrel - same thing as a g45 and g19. I was also surprised at the velocity difference between the 45 and 19.

Using Everglades 147 gr flat nose loaded to around 1.105 and win244 loaded to 3.4 I am getting a low velocity of ~830 fps and with 3.6 getting 880. Shooting on g45 and even lower when shooting on g19. way lower than what the Winchester website states to be. any loads you guys can recommend to get at least 930 fps or more? shame because both 3.4 and 3.6 had lower recoil than my current load of 124 gr with 4.5 gr load

Being in CA gen 5s are hard to come by. I got my hands on a gen 5 g45 and it fits in my hand much better and does not cause as much excessive callousing aong with getting a higher grip. I would like to modify my frame for gen 3 G19 to make it more like a gen 5. Other than deleting finger grooves is there anything else I need to do? I know the backstrap portion is slightly thinner also. How would that be done?

I use a lee sizing die with squirrel daddy decapping pin with no issues. Decap and swage the hole at once.

Does anyone have any leads on any companies that provide aftermarket rubber grips (similar to stock grip) but with thinner ridge on top and palm swells on bottom much like palm swells on a shadow 2 for lok grips?

Will slug the bore when I get a chance. For now plated bullets will be my solution.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I dont know the barrel itself. Maybe I need to get it slugged in the future. I did pull a few of my bullets. There seems to be no scraping of the coating. I think its just one brand that caused this issue, and I think that brand bullet had coating removed from the seater plug couple times.
