  1. I havent bailed on it. I called barsto again the other day. They said the project is being finalized and should be done this week. We shall see since I heard this a few weeks ago. Im not in a rush, but I want it done right. I’ve waited this long, so a little longer isnt going to hurt.
  2. This will likely replace my SRO simply because Holosun has made a larger window optic, AND it comes with a green reticle. Trijicon is really missing out on the market by only making their RMR, RMRCC, and SRO in red only. I like my SRO on my CZ Czechmate, but a green reticle optic is what I really wanted.
  3. Latest update. I called BarSto today. They said they had to make a new barrel. My guess is something wasn’t fitting correctly, so they had to make a new barrel from scratch. I was told it should be done and ship out before they take a break for the holidays. Fingers crossed, but I’m not in a rush. Just want the work to turn out perfectly.
  4. Still haven’t got my slide back yet. Last time I called they said probably a week. I think that was two-three weeks ago. I need to give them a call next week. Been a little busy with the holiday.
  5. Latest update. This project is taking a little longer from BarSto, but I called again today. They said about another week and it should be done. I let them know others would be interested so to keep records/schematics on the build for future customers. Hopefully the wait time will be reduced for any future builds now that they have all the info needed. They had to get in contact with Sebo Weapons to confirm the thread pitch and dimensions on their compensator so they didnt screw up threading the barrel properly, and apparently that took some time to do so. They are confident I will be happy with the end results, and I can’t wait to share it with everyone ince its completed and tested. Im excited because this could actually be a better platform for 9mm major than the actual Czechmate based on longer slide and extra weight.
  6. Just called them. Two to three more weeks.
  7. New update. I called BarSto and they are ready for my slide, compensator, and dummy round. They also informed me they can make a guide rod to fit much cheaper than $90. I will have them make the new guide rod I need so they can fit everything together. I will get back to everyone once it’s completed. I probably wont be able to ship it until monday since I’m out of town for the weekend. Bery excited to see if this project works or not.
  8. Update….called BarSto today. They are ready for me to ship them the slide, compensator, and dummy round so everything can be fitted. Ill update the post in a couple weeks.
  9. Sorry, this has been a long process. So as far as the barrel, I haven’t heard anything as of yet. I will try and call them tomorrow for an update, but I may not get to it since Im headed out of town early Friday morning. I did get a local machinist to make a custom guiderod. I made an error on my part as to the thickness of the end that holds my compensator in place. I will have to get him to make me another one that will have a wider diameter. Not a big deal, and it only sets me back $90 on the project. I was hoping to have this done before this trip so I would have a backup open gun, but it just wasn’t meant to be.
  10. Latest update…. I found a local machine shop who is going to make me a 118mm guide rod for this project out of steel for around $100. I placed the order for the custom barrel from Bar-Sto, however it will be about 14 weeks to get it. Its $400, and they will make it with 1” length of threads, fit the compensator/barrel/slide, and ream the chamber for the dummy round I provide. I will post pics of the progress as the work is completed.
  11. Bar-Sto is ending me the final invoice to approve the work. Its $400, and Im going to send the Sebo comp, slide, and a dummy round for my load so they will fit it all together. Also have the chamebr reamed to accept my round. Its going to be around 14 weeks though, so I want to get it started asap.
  12. As far as I know, its not going to be a normal item on their website. I didn’t see any barrels on their website for the TSO, so I had to email them and see if its something they would do. Im sure of it drew enough interest, they may make it a regular items.
  13. It did come with a second barrel, but unfortunately the comp got crossed threaded on the backup barrel, and both got damaged. The Czechmate barrel isnt long enough to get enough threads on so the Sebo comp will be flush. That comp screws on a long ways, and the barrel needs to extend past the end of the slide about 1/2”. Using the Czechmate barrel, the end of the barrel sits just inside the the TSO slide. Cutting additional threads wont help because the Sebo comp is already flush against the end of the slide.
  14. Thanks. This definitely isn’t the cheapest option. However, I believe it will look the best, and function closest to a Czechmate and save some money to build a legit CZ Open gun that will handle 9mm major loads. I would prefer to use the same titanium Sebo comp I use on my Czechmate, but I already have their steel comp on hand. That will cut my cost down a bit.
  15. I took some pics, but unfortunately it says they are too large to upload. I will figure it out and post them.
  16. New update. I removed the barrel bushing from my TSO, and used my Czechmate’s barrel and Sebo comp to get an idea if its going to work. It appears it will work fine once Bar-Sto makes me a barrel with longer threads which they can. As far as the guide rod system, its going to be easiest to utilize the insert the gun already uses. I will need a new guide rod that is approximately 118mm in length. This will allow the guide rod to sit just inside the edge of the Sebo comp, and the sleeve insert will keep it lined up when functioning. I tested the functionality of this using my Czechmate barrel and Sebo comp, and everything fits nicely. I contacted a local gun machinist shop about making a custom guide rod. I will try and meet with them next week to see if they can make me one out of stainless steel. If he can, I told him others would be interested as well. I’ll keep everyone posted.
  17. I plan on removing the barrel bushing in the next day or two, and seeing if my extra Sebo comp will fit inside or not. I located a new guide rod designed for the TSO but its longer than the factory 95.5mm, and its 112mm. Using my calipers, it will just barely extend past the end of the slide. If it works, you would leave the plastic sleeve for the guide rod in the frame, and just use the longer 112mm guide rod and spring just like the TSO uses already. I outsourced a barrel from Bar-Sto and they will fit the barrel, comp, and slide, plus ream the barrel using my dummy round for $400. Considering all that, $400 isnt a bad price since I had to pay a gunsmith to have my titanium Sebo comp fit to my Czechmate, so that cost me over $400 between the work and the comp itself.
  18. The issue would be finding one. I have yet to see a non coned comp that uses a captured guide rod system like the Czechmate. The easiest thing would be to use a threaded barrel and a 2011 style comp. However, I dont like how they keep the comp from coming loose. You either have to loctite it down, and/or use a set screw. Im still trying to decide which way I want to go with this project. Since I already have a spare Sebo comp, its the cheaper route to go most likely.
  19. Im not so sure cutting the slide would be needed. The Sebo comp will fit inside the slide. Just because its longer changes nothing if the barrel is custom made to the length needed and the comp’s cone will fit inside the slide without the barrel bushing. I plan on removing the barrel bushing, and making sure the Sebo comp will fit into the slide properly before sending it off to have a barrel made. If thats successful, then I will have to send some measurements to that company in Manilla for the custom tungsten guiderod. If not, I will have to look at a 1911/2011 style comp instead.
  20. If using the Sebo comp, you want the threads to start inside the slide. The Sebo comp has a cone that sits inside the slide, so that it threads into the 1” length of threads. If using a 2011 style comp, then you wouldn’t want the threads inside the slide. The barrel bushing will have to be removed for the Sebo comp since its cone sits inside the slide. I have a price for the barrel of $400. This would include sending my slide/comp to them, so everything can be fitted properly. That will also include reaming the chamber to accept my load, so I will include a dummy round.
  21. I only looked at the MBX Pistol Comp, but looking at the dimensions of their PCC Comp, its almost exactly the same, so it would work fine. If I can't make this happen with the tungsten guide rod from Armguntech, I will likely just buy a barrel from CZC or BarSto, and add the MBX PCC Comp to my TSO. AT that point I'll just sell the steel Sebo Comp I have as a spare to offset the cost of everything.
